When Lauren Wilkinson started her UGC journey, getting noticed by brands was one of her biggest challenges. Despite her enthusiasm for creating natural, relatable content, she struggled to get responses to her pitches.
After joining Twirl, Lauren began securing campaigns with brands including PlayOJO, Lingokids and Zable, helping her build a stronger portfolio and gain confidence in her creative skills.
As a new UGC creator, Lauren was finding it difficult to get her foot in the door. She was sending pitches to brands but rarely hearing back, making it challenging to secure those first collaborations and build a portfolio that demonstrated her abilities.
Without an established track record, she felt stuck in the familiar cycle of needing experience to get opportunities, but needing opportunities to gain experience.
Lauren joined Twirl hoping to secure campaigns that would give her practical experience and help her build her portfolio. Through the platform, she began connecting with brands across different industries. Support from the Twirl team also helped her navigate the experience as a newer creator.
Rather than limiting herself to one type of content, Lauren embraced her versatile style, creating relatable videos for different products and services.
Lauren reports securing campaigns with PlayOJO, Lingokids and Zable. She was also invited to take part in a Rodial campaign, an opportunity she described as particularly exciting.
These collaborations have helped her build a more established portfolio while developing confidence both on camera and behind it. For Lauren, the biggest change has been moving from struggling to get brand responses to having real campaigns and examples of professional work to show.
Lauren encourages aspiring creators not to become so focused on perfecting every detail that they stop themselves from creating.
Her advice is to embrace personality, be relatable and take creative opportunities even when they feel outside your comfort zone.
"You don’t need a perfectly aesthetic setup or a massive following - just lean into your actual personality, be relatable, and step out of your comfort zone."
